WORKING GROUP

Emilio Bendermacher - Geroussis (Architect Engineer), Stavros Papazoglou (Architect Engineer)

The “Georgiadis-Sekeri” factory was built in 1890 on Ag. Polykarpou and Amphipoleos streets in the area of Votanikos, in Athens. Viennese style furniture imported from abroad by the owner were manufactured there for about 100 years. In 1986 after his death the factory was closed and abandoned.

The architecture of the listed building features neoclassic elements. The ground floor housed the factory, while the first floor was the owner’s residence. Parts of the woodworking machines are still preserved. An Architectural survey of the monument was carried out in order to restore it and house a furniture exhibition.
