Triton & Shell was founded on the initiative of Andreas Fatouros, art conservator and paper artist. Located in Dafni, Attica, it is the first non-profit organization in Greece exclusively dedicated to handmade paper and the art of the book. Its mission is to preserve and promote the cultural value of paper, serving as a meeting point for artists, visual practitioners, publishers, researchers, and more. The multi-purpose space brings together an exhibition area, archive and library, along with a workshop for handmade paper, bookbinding, and conservation, while also hosting a wide range of seminars. The inaugural exhibition, titled “Handmade Paper from Asia to Europe”, opened in May 2025 and traces the historical journey and evolution of paper from China to Europe. The project included the architectural design of the workshop and the curatorial development of the exhibition, aiming to create a unified environment where the museum experience coexists with living knowledge.
