The photographic exhibition The work behind the Project was held at the National Gallery from 19 to 26 January 2026, as part of the communication and outreach activities of the project Conservation and restoration of movable objects of the former royal family from the buildings at the Tatoi Estate – Preparation of exhibits for the exhibition of movable objects of the former royal family from the buildings at the Tatoi Estate, implemented by the Directorate for the Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments.
The curatorial approach and exhibition design aimed to capture the scope and complexity of the project through documentary photographic material produced by the conservators of the Directorate. The material records the progress of the conservation work, primarily during the years 2022–2025, depicting the working environment, the different stages of intervention, and the processes involved. At the same time, it highlights the everyday practice and the relationship between conservators, objects, and the collection, through the specialized perspective of the professionals involved.
